Yes it is baking soda and vinegar. 1/2 cup full of vinegar, and a 1/4 cup Baking Soda. Let sit in drain for about 5 minutes, then rinse with really hot water. In addition, vinegar is also very good to wash down any surface area that may be 'germy'.

I cannot use bleach, so vinegar is my alternative. It is excellent for many other uses as well.

Baking soda and vinegar will put on a "good show" with the foaming and will make the drain smell nicer. If you want to really "clean" a drainline, use an enzyme drain cleaner such as DrainCare by Zep. Enzyme cleaners cling to and eat organic clogs. Caustic cleaners flow by a partial clog and down to the sewer main line.

Use a bacteria based drain cleaner like BioClean (available through plumbers and supply houses, not sold in HD or Lowes)

IF you clean the drain BEFORE it plugs completely shut
boiling water works great. About once per month I boil a tea-kettle of water and pour one kettle down each drain. The hot water dissolves all of the grease, soap, etc. and the drains have never, ever plugged shut. AND, it is not bad for the environment.
