Two methods you can try:
1. Put the article in the freezer if it's not too bulky for about 15 minutes. You may be able to scrape the residue off with the edge of a knife held perpendicular to the fabric. Lightly scrape before glue and fabric warm up.
2. A small amount of cooking oil rubbed into the glue residue and then wash again after rubbing laundry liquid into the spot to eliminate the oil. If the oil stain is still there after the first washing, do not dry the item in the dryer. Treat with either more laundry liquid and re-wash or use Goop (mechanics use it to cut grease on their hands). I use Goop on all stains except on silk. It is terrific stuff. Then after Goop, wash as usual in warm or cool water, whatever the fabric recommends. That should do it.

I would google that question under a duct tape website. That is some pretty strong adhesive and you might ruin the fabric it is stuck to.

WD-40. But try it in a small hidden area first.
