I want to learn how to do these things myself to save money and I know it can be done. I will leave the plumbing and electricity stuff to the professionals. But I want to learn how to put up dry wall, windows, and hardwood floors. Where do I find quality material such as granite, cabinets for less in my area
(washington, dc) Are there any professionals willing to walk my through the process?

I have dark green plastic outdoor furniture which has faded from the sun and has lost most of it's original color.

Any suggestions on how to re-polish and recover it's original colour?

The bin is bottomless and it was place on the ground but the rats burrowed a hole underneath and got in. When I place it on a concrete surface it is very light in weight and the rats could easily lift the edge

I purchased some inexpensive stainless made in China and I am worried that it could have lead in it or some other potentially dangerous impurity.

ok you know how there is a type of smell you like and you just don't want to get rid of it, but it goes away just because that's life. Well I don't have just one favorite thing to smell so I will just say one of my favorite things to smell that would be a new car smell

I have read many reviews online and my stepfather thinks Dewalt is better. Many people on the internet say one or the other for the majority. Any recommendations from people who have used these brands?

Have moved into a new flat and the livingroom has a storage heater. It has 2 electrical supplies into it, one from a dual supply consumer unit and the other from the normal consumer unit. This heater has a built in convector which is turned off (small switch on the side). The heater has only one dial to set the output, nothing to control the input. It is always very warm, even set to minimum all the time and my first elec bill laid me flat on my back. How is the input set??? It is a Dimplex FCXA and i cant find info for this model on the net, and of course the info i can find on storage heaters tells me there should be 2 dials, input and output. Can anyone give me a good answer please, Thanks.

There are actually two full length doors that have been sitting in the basement of our house for many years. It is a grimey kind of dirt--but now that I have them mounted where they originally were--they need a good cleaning!

I LOVE the colour black. It is by far my favorite colour. I want to paint my office black. My mom is advising me not to though. What are some things I should know about black paint before I paint my wall? Has anyone else painted a room black? If so, how did it turn out?

I just rented this home a week ago. The landlord denies any former tenant complaining of the same thing. The strong rusty smell seems to only be in the hot water of the bathtub. The few two times that I rang the hot water, the water was rusty colored. LL suggested it would clear after a number of uses since the house had been empty for 3 or 4 months. The smell is a bit diminished, but today I found like dark colored rectangle chips floating in the water. What are the possible causes and concerns?
