I am restoring my great grandmother's kitchen dresser and it has stained glass windows in the doors. I have sanded back the woodwork to be re-oiled but am unsure of how to clean the glass without damaging it or the lead holding the pieces together.

It doesn't always taste this way, just in the last couple of days. What's that all about?

I have just got a new garden pond with a pump filter. Do I have to keep this running all the time or just a couple of hours a day?

We have hired a birthing pool for the birth of our first baby. Problem is, the heater has come with a leaky pipe connection

Two plastic pipes are being joined together with a busted plastic screw, and a washer. I can't send it back at this stage. What's the best way to seal up this leaky pipe, some kind of silicone sealant, or tape?
Cheers!

We recently moved, and we inherited a plant that was all shriveled up. I took off all the dead leaves and I've been watering it every1-2 days. Its doing beauitifully, but it's in an area where people often step on or kick it. Its a big plant, but it also has about 15 medium sized plants, (the same kind) growing around it. I would like to dig the whole thing out and plant them in a better spot. HOW??? Calling me a beginning gardener would be an understatment. I need all th eonline info i can get!! I don't know te name of the name of the plant, but I know that its non flowering, Others in the yard are about 1 1/2 -2 feet tall. It has long leaves that reach the ground.

A master gardner I am not! Though this summer, I did attempt to garden a couple tomato plants in pots with some fair results. My question is do I throw them away when the winter hits and they dont look so good, can I keep them until next spring/summer? I live in Seattle, so not alot of sun and alot of rain. Thanks in advance!

I would like to make a dog house for my chihuahua that will be used rarely as he is a tiny inside dog but it still needs to be comfortable and roomy for him. He loves the outdoors!

BUT there are big dogs in the neighborhood so I want the dog house to have a sort of tunnel built in the front to that will allow him to run in for shelter and no big dogs to follow him in. I'm guessing I would have to have more ventilation to compensate for the tunnel but it will be a necessity.

I can build and have the use of (hubby's) tools but I can't do anything without plans. I can't seem to find anything using google. Can anyone help with some puppy house plans?

We want to install real hardwood, NOT laminate, in our living room and bedrooms. We have been pricing it out and it will be about $1600+ just for the dinky 200sq living room. That is way over our budget so I wanted to find out how hard it would be to do this ourselves. The living room is a perfect rectangle, concrete flooring, 1st floor. I've found the wood I want, that price isn't too bad, it's the installation price that is killing us! I've been to Home Depot and a few local flooring places. Any advice would be great, thank you!!

I am guessing they didn't get pollinated. I have six plants and only two bloomed, the other four are duds. I don't know what happened.

My house was built in 1962 - every room has one wall sconce(light fixture) in every room. It does not seem to matter what wattage I use - bulbs burn out in them way too often. I really hate those spiral florescent bulbs - they just arent bright enough. I need light all day long in each room because of the birds I have in each room. I try not to use 75W, but end up using two sources of light at 60W each. In the living room/dining room I have 5 bulbs burning all day (inside rooms very dark)
I have had someone come out and check the electrical just in case I have a problem with the wiring, but supposedly nothing is wrong. The bulbs just burn out way sooner then they should. I lived in another city and really didnt have this much problem with bulbs burning out this soon.

They are old, rusting, and pretty much down to nothing. Most of them are just metal and the white shells. I definitely don't want to take them to the dump. I have no idea about recycling them and don't know where to look into that. I need to get rid of them and have NO idea what to do.

living in this age knowing that the forest are depleting, why are we still using wood to built our houses? We have tons and tons of metals from recycled materials that works just as good or even better to support houses.

I know that wood may be cheaper than metals, but isn't there anything that can be done about it?

I am a senior lady and have always been handy around the house. I just bought an 8 panel heavy duty wire fence. The kind you use to exercise dogs. Each panel is connected with metal brackets and I want to cut this fence in half so I will have 2 fences, each with 4 panels. What tool can I use for cutting these metal brackets? I use alot of power tools, so if I know which one will do the trick I probably have it. Thanks so much for your help.
