Does anyone know of any system that you can do where thers a box or something you can have on your wall at a good level where when you press it onece it send out a continuous alarm until you stop it or untila caertain time wtihout holding on to the button?

I don't know of anything commercially available. You could buy a bell some two conductor wire (like lamp cord), a plug, and an in-line switch. Just plug it in and have the switch somewhere handy.

I wonder though if this is a worthwhile thing. If you have the required number of smoke alarms (preferably interconnected), and your house is of ordinary size, your voice probably would be heard everywhere. The smoke detector should even give you enough time to rouse the other occupants.

If you want to have a fire drill, you could do it by testing one of the smoke alarms. Fire and security companies sell a can of chemical made especially for testing smoke alarms.

Certainly smoke detectors should be in every home; especially when children are present.

The detail of the question doesn't relate to the initial Q however.
