I am a senior lady and have always been handy around the house. I just bought an 8 panel heavy duty wire fence. The kind you use to exercise dogs. Each panel is connected with metal brackets and I want to cut this fence in half so I will have 2 fences, each with 4 panels. What tool can I use for cutting these metal brackets? I use alot of power tools, so if I know which one will do the trick I probably have it. Thanks so much for your help.

Angle grinder with a diamond cut off wheel should do the trick. It's freehand work so maybe practice on something scrap before you start cutting. Wear eye protection for sure.

A trip to the hardware store may be in order as a diamond cut off wheel isn't super cheap so unless you've cut metal in the past you probably don't have the right wheel. Of course a cutting torch would work, but you don't seem like a welder to me. I could be wrong! Good luck.

"a diamond cut off wheel"
Is specifically used for masonry products.

" I just bought an 8 panel heavy duty wire fence."
If thus us a chain link product, as many "dog runs are", you can straighten the strand, next to the middle, at the top and bottom where they are tied together, unwind the strand, separate the two new panels, rewind the removed strand into the shorter section, insert a new tensioning rod and attach to the post.

If you have a reciprocating saw with a metal cutting blade would be the easiest. Or a dremel tool with metal cutting wheel this would take a lot longer. Even a drill with a cutting wheel.

I agree with most below, an angle grinder will give the cleanest cut. You can also use a jig saw with a metal blade. I pair of linesmans pliers will cut through the chain link.

If these are strong links, you will need cutters like the ones to cut off a lock. You may not need something that strong but get some strong cutters at the hardware store.
