We have hired a birthing pool for the birth of our first baby. Problem is, the heater has come with a leaky pipe connection

Two plastic pipes are being joined together with a busted plastic screw, and a washer. I can't send it back at this stage. What's the best way to seal up this leaky pipe, some kind of silicone sealant, or tape?
Cheers!

I think some type of sealant would work better than tape. Ask someone at your local hardware store and they would know what's best for you to use.

Can you determine if it's PVC or a soft plastic tubing?

Ah OK it's not strictly a screw but a threaded connector.

You have many options. I might first try any brand of "SuperGlue", then gorilla; or epoxy. Glues formulated specific to the type of plastic.

I'd probably not send it bac either; but without question if it arrived in that condition I'd be e mailing the Mfg. with these same PICS, demanding replacement parts as you await the birth.

This is only my opinion but......... It looks like the setup was tested somewhere and the threaded coupling screwed down too tight; breaking it at the back end.

Before attempting any glue however you should probably have the coupling threaded down as safely as possible and be prepared to seal the entire area. It may still leak? That break is in a place where the coupling endures the most stress.

Have you checked the big box hardware stores for a replacement? Most carry them. You will have to have the area dry and there are tapes and epoxies that can give a good seal. Be sure to roughen the area before sealing so there will be a good grip to the pipe.

If you don't replace the coupling nut it will never seal. Nothing else will work.
After reading the answer from Snig, I can see why India is still a third world country.
