We recently moved, and we inherited a plant that was all shriveled up. I took off all the dead leaves and I've been watering it every1-2 days. Its doing beauitifully, but it's in an area where people often step on or kick it. Its a big plant, but it also has about 15 medium sized plants, (the same kind) growing around it. I would like to dig the whole thing out and plant them in a better spot. HOW??? Calling me a beginning gardener would be an understatment. I need all th eonline info i can get!! I don't know te name of the name of the plant, but I know that its non flowering, Others in the yard are about 1 1/2 -2 feet tall. It has long leaves that reach the ground.

Dig it out by putting your spade half way in the ground all the way around the plant then work it out all the way tilting your spade and lifting it, try to leave as much soil around the roots as possible.
Once it's free of the ground you can snip or cut to separate the little plants making sure you have a good amount of roots attached for replanting.
Sorry I don't know of any websites.
You could take a leaf to your local garden centre for identification.

What Jopal said. You can also just dig out the smaller plants. Put shovel between mother plant and pup to remove. You can also use a large knife to cut them initially.

When you transplant use Root Stimulator (Fertilome is good) or a good drink of MiracleGro to reduce transplant shock.

have fun
