I've had to peel away loose paint off a wall and have ended up taking off several layers going back years. Now I have a one foot square patch 1mm deep to 'fill'. Tetrion and the like only recommnd themselves where the depth is at least 3mm. Therefore my question, is skimming plaster the answer and can I can a small bag of the stuff?

I moved into a community where they have garbage disposals installed. I've never had one before. I've been living here for 2 months and it just dawned on me that I might need to maintain it. Would I ever need to get it emptied? What is a good way of cleaning it? I've heard of grinding ice cubes in it once a week and running hot, soapy water through it.

I live in the city and have had enough of living like a prisoner in my own home. My kids cant play in the front yard and we barely have a back yard. I want to live where you can still leave your doors unlocked and your windows open and leave the keys in the ignition of your car like when i was a kid. I dont think there is such a place anymore but maybe someone can tell me there is!

My electric ceiling fan has a built-in, 3-speed regulator and it is still in good working condition. I have recently noticed that the top speed is not so fast as it used to be. Please advise me whether I could replace the existing regulator with a higher power capacitor in order to increase the speed.

I have grown this year from seed some Lemongrass. However due to the less than ideal summer it has only reached around a foot high and with no real body to it as yet. Am I right in presuming that if I bring it indoors in a warm, well light place it will be ok and I can re pot it in spring?

I stupidly placed the THICK ceramic bathroom shelves directly under the shower and of course they are always full of water. Is it possible to drill a hole through the ceramic shelf without cracking/breaking the whole thing I wonder, so that the surplus water can run through? AND IF SO, would I use a drill head for metal?

I have tried vermi. but to no avail. Remember it should be cost-effective and chemical free, easy to implement. I know it would be a continuous process. Can any one throw some light????

I'm looking for a regular dishwasher, but with a front panel made of glass. It would be really cool too if the glass changed colors and then by color you knew the dishes were clean or dirty. *off in my own little world, sorry* So, if you have ever come across the possibly non-existent machine, please let me know. I've already ordered my gemini oven- I am sooooo thrilled. Thanks for any and all suggestions. :)

Our Whirlpool is on it's last legs at 11 years old.

We've (which means me as I got yelled at to open the door) we're using two screwdrivers to open it as the door handle/hinge broke off, until I found a cheap replacement handle and hinge for it on ebay.....

....but no sooner had I finished patting myself on the back for replacing the handle.... the power button is slipping from it's in-position, causing it to stop mid-cycle. I've cut a matchstick and jammied it in to the small gap at the side of the button to keep it switched on permanently.... so it's ok for now but trying to gauge what a good replacement brand could be.

When your washing dishes at home and you dont have a dish washer, do you fill the sink with water or do you just wash them under running water? Also, is one better than the other as far as germs go.
For both assume you are using hot water. And you are using soap and a spunge.

Ive always just done it under running water but my fiancee gets angry when i do it that way, she says that they dont get
as clean as soaking them. Now my family has always done it that way and we never sick no where near how much my girls family gets sick doing it by soaking. Im not saying thats why people fet sick, but... well you get it.....

I need this for an AP Chem Lab that I just did over titration, but I can't find the numbers anywhere. I highly doubt somebody actually has the percentages, but I thought I might as well ask.
