It is easy to get rid of bedbugs.
1. Take all your clothes, linens, etc., epecially in the affected area, and put them outside. Hang them on a clothesline, if you got one.
2. Wash all your whites, using bleach.
3. Seal up your house.
4. Get a heat releasing, arsenic tablet device and put a couple of arsenic tablets in it.
5. Get out of your house for 6-8 hours, and when you return, open all windows and doors to air it out.
6. Repeat in one week, and weekly thereafter until the little critters are gone.
If you can't do this, you will have to live with it for a while as you try lesser methods.
BTW- the neurotoxins in commercial products aren't really that toxic to humans unless you are stupid enough to spray a good portion of the can into your breathing orifices.

If you've got bedbugs or lice, you may never be able to get them completely gone, since the few survivors can go inside and lay eggs in the batting. Lots of eggs.
It's worth a try to use commercial products, but you may need to get a new mattress. Make sure your family is completely free of lice and that the linens, blankets, toys, etc. are, too, before you put in the new bed.
