What kind of paint should I use for painting the inside of a plywood playhouse? Do I need to sand it?

you could lightly sand out any rough spots. be sure to start with a primer because the wood will soak up the paint and will not cover well with out the primer. If the play house is going outdoors be sure to get a outdoor primer and paint. If outdoor paint is not used it will bubble and peel with sunlight and moisture.

As much as I dislike the overuse of PRIMER and suggestions to use it; certainly RAW wood should be primed, IF ONLY to allow that the FINISH won't be absorbed so much as to require 3 or more coats. There seems to be a mild obsessiveness in doing things in way too many steps.

With NO offense meant to you at all; PLYWOOD for a playhouse should be GOOD ONE SIDE at the very least; even Birch Veneer for an indoor playhouse. Exterior lumber should be used otherwise.

Milled ply, good one side likely need not be sanded; but again; it's up to the individual when selecting ANY lumber; to determine finishes; safety; etc; before ever getting to the check out line.

Certainly PAINT is the best bargain in a "Miracle"; in this context; that anyone might find; but I've been on the planet long enough to always include the OOOPS factor in any task. Many might call it Murphys Law.

Obviously the type depends on the location; but Latex serves, anywhere.

I would lightly sand to remove any "burrs' and then prime. The primer coat will help coat the plywood so you don't need 10 coats of your paint color! There are some great "floor" paints on the market, they are especially durable and you can get them in almost any color.

Use a good primer then use a good thick paint. If it is a really rough serfice It wouldn't hurt to sand.

The paint would adhere better if you sanded it. But because you are using it in a play house I would just paint it. Use exterior semigloss paint, have fun.

the first thang you should do is buy a good primer paint and then a good satin paint if the wood is rugh and you worry about the young ones getting splinters by all means sand befor priming

Paint it with a primer first and then the color of paint you choose. If it is rough, lightly sand before.
