Fill it with wood glue, let it dry, sand it if necessary, and stain the area.

Answer number one has a great clue. I'll just add my two cents. Define "Joint" is it where an arm butts against a back rest? the backrest butts against the seat? Leg joints, where they attach to the seat? Is it an aesthetic issue or a structural problem?

Besides just the glue; you might have to "splint" or "clamp" the glued/damaged area, if that's at all possible. Without seeing the chair, or the area where the "crack" is; we might have a difficult time being more specific.

Go to Home Depot. You can do it, they can help! LOL No seriously, go to your nearest Home Depot or similar store, and ask somebody there to recommend you the best kind of glue to bond the crack. You might need a clamp to hold it firmly in place while the glue dries. They have some awsome glue products these days that'll just about repair anything.

I can't say, based on your description. I would have to see the chair. There are ways to mend broken wood chairs, but it depends on where the break/crack is. You can use wood screws/widgets and 'plastic wood'. Could you ask the q. again and be more specific? ...your friendly woodworker.

Gorilla glue is the toughest glue you can find. It works wonders on wood. Also a clamp.
