I was told I could just use a good adhesive since I am laying the tile on a new subfloor. Then just grout between the tiles. I don't want to take a shortcut if it costs quality.

I recently replaced my electric lawnmower blade, put everything back in right, and yet the mowed grass strip is lower on one side. I looked underneath my lawnmower and I see that that the hub is a little lop-sided, making the blade a little lop-sided. Should I just continue to use it the way it is? It works fine otherwise.

I built a new house 3 years ago, so my ac unit is basically new. The outside temp for the past week has been around 104-106 degrees, & I can't get my ac to cool below 83 until around 11 p.m. Not sure the size of the unit but the house is only 1300 sf. although the ceiling in the living room (where the themostats located) has an 18 ft. vault. When the inside temp is at 83-85 the temp coming out the vents is 69-70 and the temp at the return is about 82. I also change the filter monthly and just changed it a week ago. Just wondering if this is normal before I pay for a service call.

My husband is looking to do some side jobs until he can find something more stable. What can he legally do (Ohio) without forking out a bunch of money for insurance/licenses? He is experienced in many areas such as painting, drywall, carpet, plumbing, electrical, roofing, etc. and is just looking to do some minor work, no major renovations or anything. And only on a temporary basis, not a permanant business venture. I don't want him to get in any legal trouble for doing work he isn't licensed to do. Any suggestions?

We have a gas boiler (Ideal Turbo 2) how can i just have hot water without have the radiators on all day, albeit turned down. I was given a Laundry Center with a dryer that turns on, gets hot, but doesnt blow air. I have a feeling that it could be a belt or gear somewhere, but I want to look at a manual before I tear into it.

It has lost all its leaves and the smaller branches are getting extremely brittle. The larger branches seem to be cool to the touch like they still have moisture in them. The trunk has bark that is splitting and coming apart.

I just recently moved into a house with hardwood floors and previously have no experience with them. It is a rental and so naturally the floors paint sealer or whatever top coat has been rubbed off so pretty much it is JUST wood. How am I suppose to clean and take care of it?

Big reminder..THERE IS NO PAINT SEALER OR SHINE TO THE FLOORS AT ALL!!! They are really old floors and so either never had that or it has been worn away.

I had 4 quotes 2 months ago to get a supporting wall removed. No one told me to get building regs. The builder I chose was the cheapest, but he was the most intellegant to talk to, the most comprehensive with the quote and the one who gave me the most confidence.

I booked him last week but have been waiting for him to confirm since last Thurs. I called him 3 times but hew didn't return calls. I decided he was unreliable...

I have now got 3 new builders coming round to give me new quotes. They have said to get building regs done, but tonight the origional builder phoned to confirm the date.

I mentioned building regs and he was very helpful, giving me numbers for the council etc and saying it was up to me. He, again, was very articulate and now I don't know whether to just use him, but to get regs done.
The trouble is, I need it done by the 2nd week of Sept as I'll be going back to uni, but no new builder will fit me in so soon...
