About ten years ago a gang of gnome thieves, struck terror, in gnome owners all over town. They weren't your typical thefts. Some would simply be switched, red for green or green for blue. Some would end up on the lawns of homes outside the trailer park. Others were grouped together in classic Kama Sutra. It all came to a head when thirteen showed up on the sheriffs front yard. It even made the local news. Grieving gnome owners were told to come down to the police station and identify there loved ones. RScott

This is funny. I actually knew some kids that would go take lawn gnomes late at night in the boonies of Minnesota. Your friend might be sad. You could have it in your living room and invite them to dinner when they ask where you got the gnome it would be funny.

um. Loss!? unless it was a "thoughtful gift" and he had to install it. I had a "thoughtful gift" statue in my breezeway room, and darned if a temporary room mate didn't break it. Rats!!!

(ummm... She heard my comment about it and one day I came back home to find it in a basket, in shards, with a flowery apology note attached, stating that it had "fallen". I later found another piece of it on the driveway, about 15 feet from where it had resided. I gently chided her and she promised very sincerely that it would not happen again. Then we both giggled.)

(addition: Makes me wonder, does the person who thumbs-downed me think I was actually *upset* with her???? hah! But I do like my huge green garden toad statue... so you never know people's taste.)

LOL I've never thought of stealing one, but make sure you give it back. I'd take it for a vacation and get plenty of pics. Then your neighbor will just be weirded out. I think your neighbor would go through the mourning process, you know, denial, anger, fear...acceptance. Then that's when old Blueboy needs to go home. ;-)

People that have these things are wierd. If his came up missing who knows what he might do. So if "someone" plans on kidnapping it, it would be a good idea to train a video camera on his home so his reaction can be caught on tape. Could win you 10,000 dollars!

It would probably devestate your friend. It may even be considered a tramatic experience. Why would you consider doing such an act to a so called friend?

The whole gamut of emotions. Can you imagine losing your (Pink? Green?) garden gnome? Walk in his garden shoes and experience the full range of your friend's emotions.

Too funny. Thanks for the grin. And PLEASE do document it photographically, how hillarious....my imagination runneth wild.
