you had company in your cabin...not of the animal nature either...better make sure you have everything locked and double locked if you don't want unwanted visitors in there...people tend to think that a cabin is open territory if the owner is away...

its called a pack rat, they will move things with out eating it,
Try some mouse traps,
had the same problem with one, only it moved the poison 3 times, but got it with a trap,
