Deer population is being displaced in our area because of the amount of home building. I love chipmunks but they keep taking my gladiolias.

Our ph is 7.8 -8.0 and a very high carbonate hardness. Have to replace heating elements often. Am unable to use a water softener to ease the situation. How does hard water affect the tankless heater?

Hey y'all! I just made some vegie soup and noticed that after cutting up the pumpkin (I'm assuming it was the pumpkin!), my hands have turned a nasty orange colour and it's hard, numb and 'scratchy' looking in places. Regular soap / handwash isn't doing the trick. Any suggestions? THANKS!!!

How do you get rid of the smell of the garbage can? Everytime I pass by it in my backyard, it smells like poop.

I flush my toilet, water fills the bowl with completely normal strength, Just when the time comes for everything to go down, the water goes down very slowly, leading to a very weak flush. I've plunged, I've adjusted the fill level on the tank (the water in the tank actually was too low) cleaned the little hole at the bottom, and cleaned the hole around the rim to no avail. What else can i do?????

We live in Jackson, MI and I hav been searching the net for about an hour and can not even find building codes or regulations. I am wanting to put a hood up into the ceiling and put recessed lighting around it. Cool right?! OK one problem... they don't sell just the blower around here from the hood. I was told to go to a resale store and "junk" a hood... any other suggestion? I don't really want one becuase I didn't use the one that was there anyway. Haven't used it since we've lived here (about 9 months).

I live in Wisconsin and we have a problem with rabbits chewing at the lattice on our deck. I have tried the repellant sprays that smell like urine, but they don't help. I live on the edge of town, so I could probably get away with shooting them, but I was hoping for a less messy method. Traps are out of the question, because there is too much food around for them to go into a trap. Has anyone ever used the ultrasonic repellants? How about a good poison?

If you are thinking about purchasing a home warranty, FORGET ABOUT IT! I got one with my home recently and the heat went out over winter. They referred me to the fine print in my contract stating I should have properly maintained my heating system the 5 months I lived there. Not to mention it was the motor that went out...how the hell am I supposed to maintain a motor?!??!

Long story short, the money you save NOT purchasing a home warranty you should stick in an emergency savings account. Add to it a little bit every month so when something does happen, you won't have the sick feeling of knowing you paid "x" amount of dollars for your home warrenty + $55 for a service fee only to find out they won't cover your item (meaning you are out WAY more money than the cost of fixing it yourself.

Am I bitter? HELL YEAH I'M BITTER.
I reported AHS to the Better Business Bureau, only to be referred to the fine print of my contract.

I have grown plants from sprouted potatoes several times, but am never sure when to harvest. I dug under the dirt (my last attempt) and saw a bunch of tiny potatoes so I covered them back up and waited a few more weeks. When next I checked, they were all gone, decomposed I assume.
