I live in Wisconsin and we have a problem with rabbits chewing at the lattice on our deck. I have tried the repellant sprays that smell like urine, but they don't help. I live on the edge of town, so I could probably get away with shooting them, but I was hoping for a less messy method. Traps are out of the question, because there is too much food around for them to go into a trap. Has anyone ever used the ultrasonic repellants? How about a good poison?

Just shoot them. I go out around sundown and see them in my yard and put a cap in their asses. There's no mess, just dead rabbits. I feed them to the dog by putting them into her bowl and not giving her any dog food. Next day they are completely gone.

Isn't Wisconsin the state with all the wild cats running around too? There must be a shortage of prey animals to eat them. Keep the brush and grass trimmed near the home. Maybe you should just go buy a #50 bag of rabbit food. It only costs about $7 and will last awhile. There is an ecological reason why the rabbits are doing this. Maybe there is just not enough food available for the wild population because of excessive snow cover or the ground being frozen too long. Get a Beagle and you will have NO rabbits. Beagles kill and bury rabbits for later eating.

I had the same problem. We had rabbits getting inside our cars motor and chewing up cable in winter time that was because in winter its cold and every night we got home from town to our ranch and park the car rabbits would go up their and sleep there same with the street cats, dad shot theme but they are like love machines they never stop having little bunny's so we had to deal with it by not shooting them and getting two hound dogs it still dosent help that much but at least is working a 76%.

Go to your local barber shop and have them give you the hair they sweep up. Put the hair where the rabbits are bothering you. The rabbits will think there is a human there because of the smell. You will need to replace the hair after a while because it will loose the scent. Good luck.

Peppermint oil works really good at repelling mice. Not sure about rabbits but you can try putting a few drops around your deck.

Rabbits are very tasty, but if you can find out how to feed it to them I hear "Warfrin" is a good poison, but, you have to consider other animals getting into it as well, ie. pets and such. Spelling of "warfrin" might be off, but I'm not sure.
Good luck
