I was told that if horizontal or verticle blinds are already up to the window, there is something I could purchase to hang curtains in their place, without having to screw curtain rods in place. Does anyone know what this is?

Just removed slate tiles from my foyer. They appeared to be cemented down. Now that the slate is gone how do I go about leveling the floor to lay down new ceramic tile. The slate sat above the wood floor about 1/4 inch. Do I have to gouge out the left over cement to make the new tiles even with the wood floor? If so, what's the easiest way to do that? I don't know if there is a subfloor or just foundation. Help, my foyer looks like a bomb went off in it!!

I found an old wood cutting board that I will need to sand down to remove some stains. It is about 2 in. thick. After I have finished sanding it, do I put some kind of oil on it or what? I want it to be more or less water proof, but still able to cut food on it. Who knows how to do this?

I bought my house five years ago, I have done
some improvements on it, and now am looking at working
in the back yard, My neighbor has a tree, growing at
an angle, that prevents me from putting up a five foot
fence on my property. Now the neighbor is not a very
nice person, his kids trample through mine, and
another neighbors lawn, they are not very
approachable, they are sometimes downright nasty
people. What are my rights, what would you suggest. Thanks.
