There are different types of Fertilizers for Different Plants then? So if I want my plant to flower nicely, I need to find a Fertilizer that basically Specializes in Flowering?

No it's not necessary.

I've kept plants for years without it. But I do re-pot with fresh soil now and then. A plant will use up the nutrients in a pot of soil, and replacing the soil is necessary.

But if you want plants that are wildly healthy enough to give you bragging rights, you'll want to provide the extra stuff it needs. Each plant may have its own requirements. African violets, for example, need trace minerals. So an African Violet-specific plant food with make it happier than it would be without it.

I have many plants and I fertilize in the spring and in the fall I think my plants do better when they get a little bit of nutrition. I use two different plant foods- miracle grow and Jobe's plant food spikes- but if you are not sure and you are just learning try the jobe's plant spikes it is a little fertilizer stick that releases food gently for about 60 day's when you water the plant they are very inexpensive and I use them on everything from my outside potted marigolds to my indoor blooming Christmas Cactus(and another little bit of information any plant that blooms really needs fertilizer because the plant uses so much energy when it's blooming that it really needs help) Good luck!

Plants' need for fertilizer and water vary. My guess is as long as they're looking fine, don't fertilize them. Too much fertilizer will turn them yellow or kill them! (Don't water them but once a week at the most. If any are cactus - once a month watering.)
