I'm planning an extensive curb appeal project for spring. I have two front yards - separated by steps. Both are sloped. Not real steep. One is approximately 9' X 12'. The other is about 5' X 12'. I'm thinking about laying down some landscape fabric and filling the areas with mulch rather than rock. I believe mulch is cheaper. Maybe some big rocks. Some sawgrass. First, I'm wondering how much this is going to set back me back? More importantly, someone once told me mulch increases the possibility of termites visiting? Is this true?

I saved the seeds from my gerbrera daisies last year. I want to plant them and I purchased a 72 peat pellet greenhouse from lowes. I have been reading and I am finding the info discouraging. Has anyone grown these plants from seeds that they saved? I would love any tips and instruction on how to do this successfully.

We have a beautiful home, all hardwood flooring.....WE DO have a cat and a dog...O.K. So they DO shed....That could explain it. BUT.....
I just dust mopped the entire floor 5 days ago. And today, five days later we did it again and had enough dust to make two MORE dogs. I don't get it. Don't say.."Get rid of the pets" If we HAVE to have dust cause of them....O.K. Is there anything else we can do? Something else we can use? I cleaned out the closets today and the pet don't go in there and the doors stay shut. But....lots of dust, gander...Whatever its called....Filled the floor...Yuch! Would carpeting all over be better? HELP PLEASE!!!

I used to have a plant book that was taller with 4 flip pages devided into quarters on one one page. You could look at a varity of smaller plants on the bottom section, then flip the next quarter of the page to a different plant a little taller and so on so you ened up with 4 different pages to look at one one page. I loved this book but loaned it out and haven't seen it for years. I would love to replace it, anyone seen anything like this or have any ideas where I could find such a thing. I could have sworn it was called The Gardeners Palette but when I look that up its not even close to the book I remember. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

We are building a greenhouse. We have the walls and frame of the roof constructed, but are wondering how to lift the roof onto the walls. The walls are about ten feet high. The roof sturcture can be easly moved by four men. It is more awkward than heavy.

This is a silly question. I'm thinking of course, but I want to find out if it is the opinion of the general public. Our roomate has a 4 year old daughter and we rent them a room in our ranch home with access to the kitchen, living room and dining room and their is noticably more cleaning to do. She asked when she moved in that we sit down and make a list to divide the chores. I was thrilled but then she said she didn't have time when it came down to it. We set a day to clean together. I did hourse of dusting ext.. she did 15 minutes of vaccuming. Then she swept once and has not cleaned since. Its been two months since she moved in. Sooo, I make a chore chart so we can initial what we do, pick and choose from it and do it on our own time. Nothing this week yet except my initials. My tired fiance yestersay says well maybe she doesn't have to clean and she is only repsonsible for for her room. Help!
