We are building a greenhouse. We have the walls and frame of the roof constructed, but are wondering how to lift the roof onto the walls. The walls are about ten feet high. The roof sturcture can be easly moved by four men. It is more awkward than heavy.

Without knowing the length and width it would be hard to say but I will *** u me (LOL) that it is small enough for the four men to handle so here goes. Take at least 4 (one for each man) 2x4 or 2x6 that is longer than the roof width and lean them on one side of the building (providing side walls will handle it if not you will need to brace walls). lift one side of the roof as high as you can upon the 4 boards. On the end of the boards that are on the ground you need to install a block of some kind to prevent the roof edge from slipping off. As a group lift the roof up and slide it across the walls and once the roof is centered on the exterior wall then use 2men to hold roof while the other 2 men help slide roof to the opposite outside wall and laying the boards on top of the other wall and then position roof into place...........hard to answer when you cant see actual situation......hope it helps

What about pulleys? Construct a frame the height of your wall plus the height of your roof plus a couple of feet and attach the pulley to it. Put an I bolt on the roof and a rope through the pulley and hoist the roof while it is guided by another person.

I've got the perfect answer. But since the post is 2 days old, you probably already have the job done.

Probably a rented scissor jack will do the job.
