if it seems happy but is it potbound? check it has room for the roots.

From my experience lucky bamboo is pretty hit and miss. I've had some that grew a lot and some that didnt grow at all. Try getting a different one. Surprisingly the one I got at Ikea grew much more than ones I got at flower shops and gardening places.

Does it get enough light?
Is it from a very mature stick?
You might want to get a younger few sticks that might be inclined to grow more.

Transfer it to a bigger pot of soil and water weekly.
