This is a retaining wall for their path and steps. They have no surface groundwater drainage - groundwater runs down the back of our wall and has washed away the footings causing the wall to rotate. We have had a surveyor out to look at the wall. Their steps have dropped away slightly from their house wall They have said the wall is nothing to do with them and totally our responsibility and that if we fix our "dangerous wall" we have to repair all damage caused to their path. Builder's are not interested in fixing it until they have sorted out their drainage. They claim not to have a problem with drainage and blame it on the site - they do have a problem and suffer flooding when it rains. We have tried to have a meeting to discuss it but they have basically refused and written that it has nothing to do with them. Anyone gone through similar problems? What happened? Is it resolvable without solicitors letters ?

I have a hole about the size of a small drill tip, it is located about 4 feet up from the bottom of the basement. On the other side of the wall is my driveway.

I have heard you can drill out the hole and put a waterproof plug that expands in it, but do not know what this is or if it is true, any suggestions

I know it depends on the application and I didn't specify one but I've tried Crazy Glue, Gorilla Glue, JB Weld, PC-7 and a bunch of others. Anyone have any good stories? I used Krazy Glue on a toilet bowl in 1977 and it is sealed water-tight to this day!!! Thanks in advance for your input!

I'm about to move to Charlotte North Carolina & I want to know where the good areas are. I do not want to live in the ghetto and I want to be surrounded by good community homes.
If possible, we would like to live in communities that are being built so we can have our house built. Should I live in the Northwest, northeast, southwest, or southeast of Charlotte? PLEASE HELP ME!

I broke the inside oven door glass. (note to self, after oven goes through self-cleaning mode, DO NOT then open and wipe inner door glass with a wet cloth.) Anyway, I ordered new glass, now how do I replace it? Would like to get it done before I have to admit my stupidity to my husband. Thanks for any help.

I am very color-challenged and need lots of help with coming up with a color for my kitchen. It's not been updated since the 1970s. All of the cabinets are a white laminate. The countertop is a while laminate. The stove, microwave, and refrigerator are all white. The floor is cork tiles, which is kind of a honey to medium brown, almost like maple color. The room is fairly small, but bright and sunny. The rest of the house is painted white (for now). We live near the ocean, so I like to go for the beach cottage look. My family tends to prefer blues, greens, and golds, but we're open to suggestion on this one. We're hoping to bring the kitchen into this century, a little at a time, starting with the paint. Any and all suggestions are very much appreciated! Thanks.

Hi, I am after a rough idea of clean scrap copper prices per Kg, as to see if it's worth the extra work in ripping it out.
Thanks

A piece of plastic wrapping from something on top of the refrigerator was closed into the freezer overnight, but it's been several hours since I pulled it out. Frozen items are still quite soft and freezer still icy.

I've read about preparing the surface and getting compacters and layers of gravel and sand, etc., etc but I don't want to spend the time and energy to do that thorough a job. I am not looking for it to last forever. Can I do something simpler, maybe just some sand, or even dirt, and get a quick rough result? Any suggestions?

We've purchased brand new furniture (4 poster bed) and received a great deal, but the finish is now quite what we'd like. The finish is a mahogany and we'd like something more along the lines of an espresso or a dark chocolate color. The furniture is obviously already stained and finished and so I'm looking for the easiest way to re-stain this furniture.

We thought about painting it, but would prefer not to do that.

Is it absolutely necessary to strip the existing finish and then use stain to match the color we're looking for? Or is there a way to apply the stain we like to the furniture without all that extra work beforehand.

I'm sure this sounds crazy, but any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thank you.
