Can anyone telll me how to remove the knot from?

a very fine gold chain without doing the chain any damage?

Other than jewelers tools, you can use a straight pin. Gently insert the pin into the knot. jiggle the pin and try to unloosen the knot until you get it loose enough to untangle. This method also works with other material knots, such as shoe laces. Good Luck!

take it to the jeweler, if it is very tight is is nigh on impossible.

kindof hard to explain... just keep working at it... using as little force as possible...
