Sorry for the immaturity hedgehog.

If your water smells then this is a sign of bacteria forming which can disease the plants drain it and refill it. or if it is too big you can get some neutralizer at the garden shop...

I sell plants at a Nursery and your gonna want to change the water because stagnant water is a homing beacon for insects, and breeder of bacteria. Both of which are bad. Dang some people are really immature!

It could well be, I would try it in a small section of the yard to see how it does. If it works ok then you might want to regularly drain some of the water to keep it fresher. I almost became a wisecracker here, but I looked it up to check out the term. You have educated me today - thanks.

I would dump it and use fresh. I however use water out of my fish tanks to water my plants. Fish waste makes for good ferts and my plants love it!
