I'm about to move to Charlotte North Carolina & I want to know where the good areas are. I do not want to live in the ghetto and I want to be surrounded by good community homes.
If possible, we would like to live in communities that are being built so we can have our house built. Should I live in the Northwest, northeast, southwest, or southeast of Charlotte? PLEASE HELP ME!

I would suggest south Charlotte or Union County (Waxhaw is part of Union County) If you are having home built, there are more options for you in Union County. Of course, it depends on where your job is located (for commute times) as well as your price range. Feel free to e-mail me if you would like me to send you some information on the Charlotte area as well as on new home communities. Best of luck to you!

The town of Waxhaw is nice. They have LOTS of apartments and homes within all types of price ranges and good communities. It's right outside the Charlotte county line, and I have an aunt and uncle that live there. My uncle is a real estate agent there, and the real estate is booming in Charlotte. They used to live inside Charlotte county, which is a good area, too. I look forward to living there myself.

Best thing to do is to make sure your not in mecklenburg county because the taxes are almost triple that of the other counties in the area! Cabbarus(Concord),Iredell(Mooresville) are low taxes and very nice communities. Mooresville is Exit 33,36 on I-77 with several more coming in the future. Lots of new developments going up everywhere! You might check the Highway 3 Area in iredell and cabarrus county Lots of nice homes

I use to live right out of the city in NODA (North Davidson), and was so cool! But its a little pricey.
