I am decoratiing a nursery and want to write some quotes on the walls that I just painted. IS there a certain tool to use that will just paint and not ruin the walls? I know about stencils, but that's just a hassle!

I recently found my great-grandfather's leather-bound Bible. The leather is very dry and cracking. Large pieces of leather have flaked off. Does anyone know what I can do to preserve what's left?

I have a electrical outlet in my room on a switch. I want to divert the wires in the attic so that I can install a ceiling light.
The duplex electrical outlet has black, white, red, and ground wires attached. The wall switch has black, red, and ground attached. I connected black, red, and ground from the switch to my ceiling light. It does not work. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.

I have a outdoor hot tub wired directly into a breaker in my breaker box. The breaker tripped recently and I didn't know until I happened to check the tub and notice ice forming (not good). After I thawed it out so the pipes didn't freeze I wondered if there exists a circuit breaker that give an audible alarm when the power is lost/ circuit trips.
Has anyone heard of such a thing and if so where can you find it.
Thanks!

I have been struggling along with a 5kg max load washing machine, for a family of 6, for several years and have finally decided to treat myself to a large load washing machine. Trouble is, I can't decide which one would be best for me as there is not a lot of information or any reviews on them, so i wondered if anyone had any personal experience of using one and could point out any good or bad points for the one they have.

It would also be useful to know how long the main cycles last. Any feedback at all would really be appreciated.

Thanks.

House is in the UK, very isolated and no chance of ever getting mains gas. I wondered if a central and water heating system run off oil or cannister gas, a log burning aga, solid fuel aga or anything not mentioned is particularly better and more economical than the other. Any advice would be helpful. I havent even considered solar or any other eco possibility~but am open minded to suggestions as long as affordable.

I know department stores give you three months to change your mind on a mattress, but I was going through a nasty divorce and had other things on my mind. Now it's nearly a year later and I've hated this mattress selection the entire time (pillowtop). I had the mattress inspector from the department store come out, but they won't help me. Do I have any options?

its probably at least 10 yrs old. in the winter we keep it just on low or pilot and it keeps our additon warm enough. we came home last night and it was off, hubby vacummed and cleaned it out, he lit the pilot and held it in-it wouldnt "spread"- but as soon as he stopped holding the button it went out.we really dont have the money right now for someone to come look at it..
