I am decoratiing a nursery and want to write some quotes on the walls that I just painted. IS there a certain tool to use that will just paint and not ruin the walls? I know about stencils, but that's just a hassle!

You can freehand your quotes using watercolor paint or watercolor paint pencils and pens. You can find them at craft stores. Once you no longer desire them on the walls, you can use a 409 type cleaner to remove them. You can also use Wallwords which will custom make you wallpaper quotes that you paste up like wallpaper. In my experience, they look great but are about as tricky as any wallpaper is to remove and may do damage. Another option is to use stick on lettering available at the office suppliers. You simply peel and stick to place and peel off to remove. Your choice of fonts may be limited as may be the size for your application. But, you can also make your own with sticky backed fabrics from the craft store and stencils.

You can use a permanent marker... when you're tired of them, prime the area with Kilz primer and paint it up again.
