I am drilling some holes in a wall to fix some shelves but have found metal which I believe is used for the construction of the walls (to hold conrete together). I am using a 500 W 2.5A Black and Decker drill with a 6" bit for use on metal but am having problems getting through. Is my drill strong enough or do i need a more powerful drill? Would love any help.

Does anyone know if you can use a bedskirt on a daybed if you don't have the trundle bed? I ordered a daybed online and don't think it will look right without a bed skirt...and can't really afford a trundle and second mattress...

I live in the UAE so for 10 months of the year our air conditioning is on and off throughout the day. Everytime I've tried to grow seeds they die soon after sprouting. I've kept them in the dark, then brought them out and tried to keep them in the most evenly based temperature place in the house but they just die!

The established houseplants I buy do ok (spider plant, lily, hyacinth, bamboo, ivy, orchid).

Any suggestions please, of seeds that are a bit sturdier? Less likely to die on me?! Or is it something maybe I'm doing wrong?

Ok...my hubby and I have a small 3 bedroom, 2 bath house. We live in Texas and use TXU Energy as our electric company and our bills have been extremely high compared to our friends and family who have bigger houses! I know that prices change, but it is just so frustrating! We live in an area that only offers TXU or Reliant. This may not sound high to others, but this month our bill was close to $500 when a couple years ago we thought $200 was high. Is this expensive or average? Thanks

I have plywood and tile on my shower now; and the tile is coming loose and falling off. Moisture is rotting the plywood. Is the cheapest way to remodel the shower is to put up greenboard and merlite. One wall is cinder block 1/2 way up and framed to the ceiling on top of the cinderblock with wood. Would greenboard and merlite be feasible and cheapest to go with?
