I just recieved a quote for trimming down a Cedar tree, topping off three pine trees, trimming down branches that come into my yard, and putting two shrubs to the baseline of the yard. It came to around $1800, which I think was pretty high.

Anyone have a company they've worked with that does trimming, deadwood removal and balancing, and have kept the bill under 1k?

Thanks in advance for the time you take to answer this question.

Mothballs, cockroach-killing chalks and rodent-repellent sprays and insence doesn't work for me. The cockroaches seem to have a mind of their own and no matter how clean my room is, they still find a way to come into the bedroom. This problem really frightens me because the other night, a cockroach ran up my leg and I jumped out of bed and had to upturn and check the entire bedroom for the next 5 hours to make sure the cockroach had left the room, and I don't have the time to do this everytime aone enters my bedroom at night, but I can't just go back to sleep and pretend it isn't there cos I'm afaid it would crawl into my ears or mouth while I'm in bed. Is there an absolute fool-proof solution to this rodent problem? Thanks in advance.

We just got a quote to put new windows on our house. Our current windows are 'construction grade' single pane windows (the house is 25 years old). The new windows will be double pane, low-e, argon filled window units. Doing the whole house will cost almost $9000.

Will be see enough difference in the utility bills to recoup the cost? They promise a %35 decrease, but that would take 8-10 years. Will we feel a difference in the comfort level in the house? Will it increase the value of our house?

I noticed your question and can not seem to get in contact with you, Anyways you stated that your using chopped down pine? That is a huge no no!!!!!!!!!!!!! When you burn pine the sap buildes up in your chimney known as creasote. This can catch your chimney and roof on fire, Do Not Burn Pine, I hope this finds it's way to you.

I change both my sheets and pillow cases every day, it's a lot of extra laundry, but i think it's worth it. I have known people that wait days, and in some cases, weeks. What's your confession?

One of those rollers with side protectors so I can easily paint around ceilings and skirting boards.
In the UK. I've looked on Ebay but I don't know what the actual name for these devices is.
