I have an annoying problem with fruit flies in my kitchen. i keep no fruit out or any food out on the counter and any open food is in a sealed container. Any natural meaning non chemical solutions to this problem, i have severe allergies pets and a small child so i cant use a lot of chemicals. I hate bombs cause they smell up the house for ages after wards. Any ideas would be apreciated!

I have no idea how to open it up to change the battery. There's nothing written on it about opening, but there is a little arrow. Does this mean anything? I don't know if it will close again if I just pry it open. Should I just go for it and open it however I can? I'm obviously not too handy, thanks for the help.

Hi! I am a tenant in a 5 bedroom house, living with 4 of my friends. We 'supposedly' have free callout for any problems we get, but a few weeks ago our boiler stopped working.

The hot water was flicking on and off, and it was practically impossible to get a shower - the heating for the whole house was pretty screwed too.

So, we asked for some help. They sent a guy round, and fixed it (after 3 visits) because he had to order a new part or something.

Now, 2 weeks later, we are being charged - fair enough, however, we're being charged £40, and seeing as it's not our house, and it's supposed to be free, I'm not sure we should pay. The reasoning for it is:

"Tenants had over-pressurised the boiler causing it to lock out".

Is this really a valid reason? The only thing we can change on the boiler is when it switches on and off. If we put it on too much, does that over pressurize it or something?

So, should we complain, or just pay the money?

Thanks in advance for any replies!

It's a rented house so I really don't want to invest a lot. Hower there are draughts coming in from windows and internal doors. The external door is fine as it does not go directly outside but into a hallway. No double glazing and it's cold even with the heating on full blast and open gas fire!!

I know about Oxy bleaches but I haven't used them much. I haven't found them great for removing stains etc on kitchen and bathroom surfaces.

I run a tile shop in the North of england that sells a medium to upper range of products. I am currently working on a way to make the whole experience as easy and stress free as possible. Does anyone have any suggestions on how or what I could alter in order to make this happen?
