I wondered if anyone has ever tried to fit their own fitted kitchen? Is it something my partner and i could manage (except for electrics and gas which we'd get professonals in for)? Homebase wanted to charge £2500 for a tiny kitchen, so we're contemplating taking it into our own hands! any thoughts? similar experience?

Then she asked if I would clean her pipes. Why do some people assume because I am a guy I am handy at these things? Should I charge her?

After painting and giving it some time to "grow" on me, well it hasn't! I really like the color BUT it is too vivid. Is there a product that I can use to paint over it to tone it down or something I can put in the paint itself to get the same result? Thanks.

I have a room which suffers vapour from a chip shop. I am looking to buy an air purifier unit that will clean the air of the smell.

Most of the domestic models I have looked at capture 99.97% of particles: dust, pollen, smoke particles and other air contaminants down to 0.3 microns but does that include the smelly stuff?

Can anyone help with this?

Many thanks

Peter

Hi everyone. We are building a new home in the next year, and we want to be more green by installing a ground source heat pump, rainwater harvest system and solar panels on the roof.

Even though we've had loads (and loads) of info about this from the companies that sell the products, what we would like is the opinions of real people (who don't work on commission) about these green alternatives.

Do they work well? Do they provide as much heat or water as planned? Are you happy/dissapointed that you installed these green options? Any problems during the installation or since?

To hear from people who currently use any of these systems would be great.

The house we are building is 4 bedrooms, and based in Wales, UK

Thanks.

The scratches are not deep and do not interfer wth cooking. They are only on one eye, and are minimal. However, I would like to repair them so the entire surface is smooth. They are small and again not deep, just enough to catch the eye.

I have a nice expensive goose down Eddie Bauer winter jacket given to me my a relative. I followed the washing instructions on it because I washed it after it got all full of rotten tree sap, but now all the goose down is balled up in places, it lost it's thickness to keep me warm in MN and it still smells like rotten tree sap! other than all that, it still seems almost new. any suggestions? besides super sarcastic ones please. thankyou
