Using a Iron and a dry white cloth. Making sure to constantly moving the iron so it don't burn or melt your carpet. It might take a couple of minutes for the candle wax to start transferring to the towel. You can plan on throwing the towel away so use an old one. It takes a while but usually does the trick. If it was a color candle then you will most likely be left with the stain afterwards. In which you will have to call your local Chem-Dry franchise for some special stain removal

get a paperbag, and a hot iron. place the paper bag over the area and with the hot iron hold it in place for a minute, moving side to side then over the area. you should see the area on top of the paper begin to appear wet, this is the candle wax melting from the carpet. you may need to do this a few times , be sure to use clean dry paper each time.

place a sheet of wax paper over the candle spill then run a hot iron over it until the wax paper is oily. You will then be able to peel the wax off the floor. It works great! You might have to use some vinegar and water after ward to take out any color stains from the wax depending on what color your carpet is.

Ironing over it is the only way it will come off. Not only can you use a brown paper bag but you can also use wax paper.
Once when I was out of wax paper I used a coffee filter to remove wax from my living room rug and it worked perfectly.
good luck.

Ironing through the brown paper bag. The wax melts off the carpet and sticks to the paper bag. I did it not too long ago. It works awesome.

Firstly you need to scrape off as much of the wax as you can, then as per previous answers place brown paper over spot and using a med hot iron gently iron over area being careful not to iron directly onto carpet, repeat this as many times as necessary then gently shampoo the area and leave to dry naturally.

I've never tried it but i believe a good remedy is to get an ice cube........... hold it on the effected area and scrape it off with a credit card! (preferably 1 you haven't maxed out)
The best method which I have tried and works....... put an absorbent cloth over the wax and using an Iron..... gently go over the area.....(the iron melts the wax.......the cloth absorbs the wax)
some people use newspaper!
Good Luck!

Wait until it is hard, then scrape off as much as possible. Cover the remains with kitchen paper and press with the tip of a warm iron. The wax will melt and be absorbed by the paper.
