Does it make a difference when you replace your windows for your house? Is it cheaper to do in the winter time versus summertime?

I have two large labs and they have destroyed my back yard. The lawn wasn't very good to start with. I've tried zoysia plugs, they died. I tried over 50 pounds of grass seed, the baby grass didn't stand a chance. The dogs have developed running trails which are complete mud, then the mud gets tracked into the house.
I'm hesitant to sod because it costs so much and I think it will just get destroyed. TIA for any ideas!

We got a new furnace installed. The upstair unit turns on and off about 15-20 minutes, but the downstair unit turns on and off every 10 minute, which creates noise sound. And the return vent creates more noise.

1. Is it normal for the furnace to turn on and off every 10 minutes to maintain the desire teperature? Is it a way oversized?

2. Is our duct too small for the new furnace? If we lower the speed of the new furnace, will it be okay?

Any advice would be appreciated.

There just little pieces of cement no bigger then a nickel and it made the glass look all foggy and nasty and I was wondering if there like a chemical compound or something I can use to break it down. If there is, is there anyway you can make it at home using household products? Please and Thank You

But, I'm not too impressed with the bedding/rug. Does anyone know some good bedding that goes with that room?

Thanks to everyone who answers!

I know how to turn off the water to the house....but is there normally a shutoff valve in the wall behind the tile, to turn the water off to just the tub/shower ? I know there is a shutoff valve on the bathroom sink, because I can see it and I have used it before, but don't know what is behind the wall of the tub until I tear into it. Should I expect a shutoff valve or not? This house was built in the 70's and we have found a lot of strange things they did back then.

I try hard not to just leave things lying around, but sometimes I am to tired to fold the laundry before I go to bed and so it sits there til morning. Also I live with someone that tends to be messy. Dirty clothes on the floor, office has papers all over the floor, doesn't like to do dishes. I am just one person and I only have so much time and energy to devout to cleaning and when I do that I don't have time to give to myself for rest and fun. How do we get the place clean and stay on top of it so it doesn't turn back into a pig sty. PLEASE HELP!!

I just bought this old house. The kitchen cabinets are old and need to be replaced. But the countertop and back splash is made of beautiful hand-painted tiles. I want to find a way to remove the tiles without breaking them, and re-install them on top of the new cabinets. Any ideas of how I can accomplish that?
