I have a stone fire place and the rocks are dirty from the black smoke.Do you know what would clen it good??

The best solution I've used is a mixture of bleach, water, and peroxide. Use a scrub brush and lots of elbow grease. It's not an easy job. But it will work.
Another suggestion is Cascade dishwashing detergent mixed with water and a scrub brush.
Make sure you use heavy duty rubber gloves to protect your hands!

Get a plastic spray bottle from Walmart.

Mix 1/2 bleach & 1/2 water and spray until the rock is saturated. Repeat if necessary.

Magic eraser it will not only take it off the surface but also out of the grooves and textures........ If it is a really textured stone make sure you get 2 boxes as they dissolve quicker when used on rough surfaces.

bleach won't cut grease and oil, like dawn soap will. Be sure and use a wire brush designed for the BBQ grill.
