My husband and I have an ongoing argument over our automatic garage door. I often open it about a foot to let air circulate in the garage - but don't open it all the way so as to keep out people that might want my junk. Anyway, he claims doing that will damage the system that automatically opens the door. I don't think it hurts it at all. Who's right?

I have a detached garage that is about 30 feet from my house. I want to run power to the garage. I plan on having a garage door opener, light, and 3 outlets. I dont plan on running any heavy equipment (maybe a small compressor). I though I could just bury some romex in 1.5" PVC pipe but I was told not to use romex as it is designed to run in a certain heat range.
I dont plan on using a sub-panel in the garage.
So here are my questions?
-How deep does the wire have to be buried?
-Would 12 gauge wire on a 20 amp breaker be sufficient or should I go with 10 gauge?
What are my options on burying the wire? What tipes of wire can be run in PVC and buried underground?
Any other tips would also be appreciated.
Thanks!

When our Carrier gas furnace turns on it kicks the flames on for about 15 seconds or so before turning back off and repeating process 3 times. After failed 3rd try a blower and/or fan turns on for a couple of minutes before turning off. If I disconnect then reconnect the main power to furnace then the furnace will starting working properly for a couple of hours sometimes.

Things I've checked or have eleminated:
filter
thermostat
Gas valve turned on
ignitor (turns bright orange/white like normal)

Has anybody experienced this as well? Are there any other checks I can do before the repair guys? Thanks

I know they have things to make furniture easier to move on carpet but do they have something like that to stop furniture from moving so much on hardwood floors?

At a nursery I saw a "vine peach" plant advertised as tasting like a peach-mango mix. Does it really taste like that or is it just another kind of melon flavor? I understand it's in the melon family.

There is a 1/4th inch red ink on the carpet, I'm not sure what to do that will help get rid of it, and I'm afraid of rubbing it as it will just get bigger and bigger. What do I do to help get rid of it? plz I need help as we just had this carpet shampoo'd just a few days ago, as we are moving in about 2 weeks, and the carpet was nice and clean, and after this guy came in from home depot to put in the microwave, I noticed this red ink in the carpet, where he walked. its just one spot.

we bought a house on land that has got this really beat up 140 year old barn that is in bad shape. If a tornado came through it would be gone in a second. It only has one silo, and It would give us so much more room just to tear it down. How much would that cost and do you know who tears down barns, would it be the same as housebuilders who tear it down?
