I've had a Tempur Pedic mattress for almost 3 years now and I love it. It has a 20 year warranty and the cover is scotch guarded to repell stains, etc. It is very comfortable, the only negative things I have to say about it is that it does trap body heat (my husband likes that it does because he enjoys being warm at night, I on the other hand and very hot natured to begin with so I usually just sleep with a sheet over me) and they are heavy (we've moved 3 times since we bought it). Costly too but I would highly recommend a foam mattress.

They, like every other kind of mattress have good points and bad. It really depends on what you are looking for. But I will tell you what I know about them.
As far as hygiene and cleanliness go, they are generally far cleaner then tradition "spring mattresses". This is because they do not collect as much dust inside of them. Reg. matresses often gain like half there weight in dust in 10 years. A foam matress does not absorb as much dust.
Another nice thing is they are often found to be comfortable by a wide range of ppl. Whether you like your matress firm, or a bit on the softer side, as long as you like support you will like them.
One big draw back though is that they do NOT last very long. They eventually stop sprining back, and you get an indent where your body goes. Some ppl don't find this too bothersom if they sleep in the same position every night. But if you are an active sleeper like me, it gets to be a real drag.
One thing you could do if you are interested in trying a foam matress, but are unsure if you will like it, try getting a foam matress topper. MANY companies make them, and it is a cheap way to give you an idea of what it will feel like without making the huge finicial investment. Because as far as I know, matresses cannot be returned. And if they can, it is probably after only a short time, so you won't be able to give it an adequite chance to see if you like it.
As for the pillows, well there pretty much just like the matresses. For me personally, I love the foam, but can't afford it, so I just stick to sleeping at my friends house, and he has one! :D hehe
