I have a really nice kitchen knife that I (oops!) left next to an older cookie sheet and the rust from the cookie sheet got on my knife. I've tried everything (it's not in a spot where sharpening has helped). I know that I've had good results using CLR for my hose nozels each spring and such, but will it ruin my knife? Thanks!

My carpet is a dusty color moss green, my leather couch is burgandy and the chair a small print of burgandy, green and tan, so..what color should I use to paint the walls? I have natural oak woodwork and a lot of it..there are 6 windows in that room. I'm open to drapery suggestions also. Thanks for your time and attention!

The fabric conditioner tray keeps filling up with water so I cant use it. I regularly remove the drawer and clean it out and also clean the filter at the bottom of the machine so I cant understand what could be wrong. Any ideas?

I have a leather look settee that's actually made of plastic. What are the main differences between a leather settee and a plastic one in terms of it lasting and looking nice. Plus what's the best way to keep it clean?

Getting ready to build a new home. Have hired an architect to draw the plans for us. We know that the house is going to be a 2-story "farmhouse" as it is being built on quite a bit of land. We have 2 small children under the age of 7. We built the home that we currently live in now without much thought and research and I hate it. It id definitely NOT kid-friendly. I want to really RESEARCH this home before we have our second meeting with architect, so I am asking this question again. IS there anything that anyone has in their house that they love, that they hate, AND is there anyting that we should consider or building specifications that we should use in construction our new home. I want to have EVERYTHING in order before we break ground! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU!

I am rebuilding a fast Ford engine in the kitchen, unfortunately my family keep complaining about the smell of the oil etc, even though I wiped down the draining board, I can't get rid of the smell of overheated oil. I don't mind, I am rather used to it and quite like it but the others are grumbling and saying that all the food tastes of it!
I do not have sufficiently clean environment in the shed or garage, and I need to build this engine almost to hospital standards of cleanliness (dust wise that is, don't care about MRSA and that stuff)

My mom, brother and I recently moved in with my mom's fiancee. Ever since we've been here there has been this DISCUSTING smell coming from the laundry room. When you leave the doors to the laundry room open this horrid smell fills the whole house and makes you gag. When we lift open the lid to the washing machine to put laundry in, the smell hits you like a ton of bricks, so we're guessing that's where it's coming from. Today however, the smell is worse than EVER! It smells like human feces or sulfur or something. We have tried everything to clear it up and it just won't go away! We've tried Vinager, Rid, pretty much anything you can think of. My mom's fiance says it's because of the "trap", im guessing on the washing machine. And we can even smell the smell outside. Like when we ran vinager through the pipes, we smelled it outside. Its like the ground is soaking it up or something. And I think it's making us sick. My moms fiance is the only one who hasnt been sick >>>>

I am moving into an apartment complex and will have the option of the bottom or top level apartment. I've never lived on the ground level because I've always heard it is more unsafe....breakins, etc. At this new complex I'd really like the ground level as I like the design better and the top level is 3 floors up. Does anyone know if it really is more unsafe to live on the ground level? (Obviously it would be easier to break-in and some areas of town will be more dangerous). Has anyone lived on a ground level and had a good or bad experience?

My neighbour says it is still leaking through his kitchen ceiling. Why would this be? Is it really to do with me? I'm very confused as i have no water around up here at all! Can anyone help?
