I am moving into an apartment complex and will have the option of the bottom or top level apartment. I've never lived on the ground level because I've always heard it is more unsafe....breakins, etc. At this new complex I'd really like the ground level as I like the design better and the top level is 3 floors up. Does anyone know if it really is more unsafe to live on the ground level? (Obviously it would be easier to break-in and some areas of town will be more dangerous). Has anyone lived on a ground level and had a good or bad experience?

It is not so much the safety factor as much as the privacy. Living in an apartment complex means a concentration of traffic. Unless you like keeping your blinds and curtains closed all the time, you have people being able to see right into your pad.
I will never rent on the ground level again.

Of course you will be more likely to have a break in on the ground floor! If there's an earthquake every other floor will cave in on top of you. Your safer on top - it's not that high anyway.

I live in a ground floor apartment and yes you have to be careful. You need to be really responsible about closing and locking your windows before you leave. Other than that, I think it's just fine. It's very convienient for bringing in grocerys, ect.

floor point apartments might properly be undesirable and robust. although i believe that living in a floor point condominium has greater subject concerns than solid. experts: - No flight of stairs - Can stroll directly to automobile - Mailboxes are in many circumstances closer Cons: - protection is a controversy, with human beings being waiting to stroll onto your porch - a large style of footsteps might properly be heard from human beings above you - waiting to take heed to what every person is doing upstairs, as apposed to what every person is doing downstairs in case you reside on the top flooring.
