i have finally persuaded my husband to buy the house a new carpet for the stairs and landing (other one has been down since the 1960s bought with the house )
sure hes waiting for me to slip on it to fall down the stairs so he can clam on my life policy lol
but now he say he dont know how to measure a stair and landing carpet i said we would get some one in to do it for us and he said no because it will cost to much from a high street store

so people you are my only hope now
help a poor woman get her carpet !!!!

have a look at this weblink - it works out how much carpet you need for you (although you still have to get your tape measure out). for stairs it says -
'For stairs, measure the width of the stairway and round off inches to the nearest foot. Enter the number of steps in the stairway. The calculator will determine how many yards are needed to cover the full width of the stairs and all treads and risers'

do it quick, he might start leaving things lying at the top or something! lol x

lot's of discount carpet warehouses around, many of them will measure free of charge
