I have a really nice kitchen knife that I (oops!) left next to an older cookie sheet and the rust from the cookie sheet got on my knife. I've tried everything (it's not in a spot where sharpening has helped). I know that I've had good results using CLR for my hose nozels each spring and such, but will it ruin my knife? Thanks!

CLR is great isn't it? I use it on everything. It won't ruin your knives. But if you have some real fine steel wool, that will work better.

No, go ahead and try it. Get some fine steel wool or emery paper and rub it. Get some penetrating oil on it and rub it some more. Then when you're happy face is reflecting back at you, leave a thin coat of oil on it and don't let moisture start it corroding in the future.
