Using a flashlight, we have determined that the sock is completely blocking the hose. It is stuck about mid-way down the hose. Here is what we have tried:

-sucking it out of the hose with the vacuum it is stuck in
-sucking it out with another vacuum cleaner
-pushing it out with a 2-inch diameter pole
-pulling it out with the end of a fishing pole
-catching it with a hook on the end of a pole
-catching it with duct tape on the end of a pole
-squeezing the tube to push it out

We have removed the bag from the vacuum cleaner. At the point where the hose enters the bag area, there is a 90-degree bend in the hose. We cannot push anything down there.

Cutting the hose is something we REALLY dont want to have to do, because we just got this vacuum cleaner and it actually works.

HELP??!?!?!!!

When do roses for residential planting become available? I'm talking about the Jackson/Perkins type that some home improvement stores carry. Are they around before Mother's Day. Please drop an idea if you know. Thanks!

Does any one know how to get rid of the stickyness from a sticker? I recently bought a textbook and I pealed off the sticker that was attached to it. when i peeled it off it left the stickness on the text book and it looks nasty. Does any one know how to take it off to make the textbook look better? Does rubbing alchoal work on it? PLEASE HELP THANKS!

What is considered a garden home? in reviewing condo's for sale, in multi-unit buildings, they use "garden home" as a description. Is that a ground floor unit? does anyone know? thank you.

So I'm thinking of insulating my attic. I have a slab foundation and all my electrical runs through the attic. I know certain hot features (light fixtures, transformers, etc) need a certain amount of clearance around them so they can dissipate heat - that's in the electrical code. Do runs of individual cable, runs of multiple cables (which have to be derated just because they're near other cables) or junction boxes need to be kept clear of insulation too? The derating business makes me think they need space to dissipate heat, but I can't find anything on the topic. Also, if they are on the house side of the summer heat (it easily reaches 140 up there) wouldn't that be better anyway?

I want to patch up some broken drywall so my landlord doesn't withhold my security deposit. There is a picture of it here:

As you can see from the picture, the damage is on the right side of the door frame area. I still have the broken pieces (pictured). Any help would be grrrreatly appreciated. Thanks!

My washing machine is developing a smell. I've never had this problem before and am stumped. It just smells like sitting water... mildew or algae or something. I've tried leaving it open between loads hoping it would dry out, no luck. What do you do?

I live in a townhouse condo, and my neighbors smoke. I can now smell smoke through the walls in several parts of the house. I am contemplating re-painting and using Kilz as a primer.

My question is, should I be able to smell smoke through the walls of a new construction home that is still under warranty?

Lots of details. This is place is disgusting. Me and my bf live in a 1 bedroom apartment in Alberta Canada. We have ants, the whole building does apparently, and no exterminator has been called. Its those teeny tinny ants. A few days ago our toilet and bathtub overflowed, it took them all damn day to fix it and now the carpet out side the bathroom is soaked. Yesterday my manager came in and used a wet vac on it and now it stinks like urine and the floor is still soaked! I called my manager and all shes going to do is bring down a fan for it. Also the dishwasher still isnt fixed (since Aug.) and i was told it needs to be replaced. The firealarm goes off in the middle of the night, testing itself and nothing is being done. I pay 575 C for this place!!! It's mostly the toilet water carpet I'm worried about. I mean is that healthy?????

I live in a large older home. Instead of turning on the heater i run 2 new portable radiator style heaters. My PG&E bill was 200.00 more this month and im wondering if this could possible be the reason. It seems unlikely. Does anyone do the same thing and if so is this the same case for you. I ran the heaters alot but not continually. I live in the stockton area.

yet she is responsible for the majority of the mess... for example... one day... Being the "good" husband... I cleaned up around our front entrance... inside... washed the floor, washed the door, the walls... tidied the entry way closet... then went outside and cleaned up all the "trash" bags... flower pots... planting soil...gardening tools (all my wife's) I sprayed... and swept... and washed... all done and rather satisfied with my labor... I sat down for a break... then asked my wife if she needed anything before going to the store for a soda... when I get back... she had gathered a modest heap of "junk" old broom.. an empty box of cat litter.. old cat litter pan... and a bag of garbage... and placed it all on the front step.. again...and no matter what I clean in the house... it's a matter of moments before my wife... tosses an empty bag... a used take out cup... old mail... a candy wrapper etc... onto that clean space... so I've given up... what should I do?

The mirror that I am looking for is horizontal bigger than normal rectangular shape with bevelled edge. I am also looking for a chrome light along with the mirror (i.e. not seperate).

I do not want one with a cabinet or shelves. Not do I want one that is backlit.

I have been around many many sellers and cannot find a suitable one.

I apologise if my list of wants / do no wants as detailed, but it is a very specific look I am ahieving and know the type of mirror exactly I want - i just cannot find it!

Anyone recommend web site or supplier direct?

I have always noticed that after showers, I get all itchy. I am not allergic to soap or shampoo or anything. I think it is because there is rust on the shower head and some of the stuff in the rust is getting into the water. I don't have any products around that get rid of rust. My parents are out of town so I can't go down to get them. Is there anything that I can use that is natural like baking soda or something to clean up the rust?
