I'm making a dining table for friends and at one side of the table, I would like to make a bookcase between the legs. I have once seen a picture of a similar design but have lost it. Now, I'm looking for pictures or drawings to get inspiration and ideas on how to design it.

We installed a new courier thermostat today. The old therm, had blue, red, yellow, green and white wires. We attached Red to R, yellow to Y1, Green to G, White to W1 and the blue to C. When we turned the power back on, the therm doesn't turn on (work at all). The directions say to attach the brown wire to the C, but we don't have one and called courier and they said attach the blue to the C. What did we do wrong?

I am concern of premature motor wear but does this save electrical cost as
perhaps causes the system not to turn on as much as the circulation of heat allows improved heat distribution.

could you give a percentage of cost savings if the fan is on constant?

Help, please. How can I solve the above problem? Though two apartments are separated by a wall, the floorboards run underneath. Thus, when my neighbors jump, my floorboards move; when they crank up their bass, my boards start dancing.

To save water i reuse water from the home (washing veggies etc.) to water the garden, my problem is the tree i try to water is on a bit of a slope and when i pour the water to water it the water flows down hill and not much of it ends up in the garden.

Any ideas to make water absorption better because in Australia water evaporates so quickly.

Thanks

Our thermostat in our house is in our kitchen/diningroom. We spend alot of time in this area. Because of the lights, this area heats up and causes the thermostat to register warmer than what it should, making the furnace not run. The rest of the house ends up being realllllllly cold.

We keep a fan running, all the time, in this area because it helps the air flow and helps the thermostat not to "warm-up". Every month or so I turn off the fan and the fan is full of dust. I keep my house dusted, but the fan is caked with it. Yuck! Why is this?

The place is always cluttered and we have two small children with clothes and toys on the floor. What can I do to make more livable space? Shelving, storage boxes, anything? My wife is the type that NEVER wants to get rid of anything.

We're about to add a second story on our house. Now, the master bedroom is on the main level and has no master bathroom--the bathroom is shared with the whole main level. Which option do you think is better?

1. In the upstairs addition, make a master bedroom with master bathroom (plus a small bonus room), and use the two bedrooms on the main level for kids' rooms.

2. Put two kids' rooms and a shared bathroom upstairs, and continue to use the master bedroom on the main level with no exclusive master bathroom.

I live in a place that's very cold in the winter, but I want to grow some plants indoors.
I planted the seeds in a pot about 10 inches tall filled with potting soil.
I put some gravel in the bottom of the pot because I heard that helps with the drainage.
I have the pot in a dish to catch any drainage.
But the problem is, there is no drainage! I have been watering my plant, but none of the water seeps through and drains. It all just sits there in the soil, or get evaporated, or whatever.

Is this ok? I wasn't sure if the lack of drainage is a problem. I dont want the soil to get too inundated or moldy or anything.

Thanks

One of my neighbors owns a leaf blower that has a two-stroke engine. Therefore, when he uses the blower, it makes this high-pitch whine sound. I was told that four-stroke engines do not make high-pitch sounds that two-stroke engines make. I was wondering what process in a two-stroke engine causes the engine to make the high-pitch sound.
