Fisher Price makes these heaters; please e-mail for the retailer near you-- http://www.thisoldtoy.com/l_fp_set/toy-pages/1000s/1512-heater-fan.html

"FPT19123 - Squared white portable Nursery Heater/Fan. The unit has a built-in carry handle on top for portability, a small-spaced blue grill to keep tiny fingers from getting into the unit, and a tamper-free door that hides controls for for the settings: fan setting, and three heat settings (low, medium, and high). The unit has an automatic shut-off if it tips, gets covered, or falls into water. The plug-in cord winds up on the back of the unit to store unused length. Marked Fisher-Price on the front in blue."
I hope it helps.

There are electric radiant heaters that are mounted near the ceiling so the child would never come in contact with them. They produce a nice even heat also.

I have never heard of such thing- and wou;d think it best to turn up the heat in your home or dress baby more warmly.
Space heaters are an unneccesary danger if not monitered all the time.

Have you tried GoodWill or Salvation Army? Also many Thrift Shops have them from time to time. Don't spend a fortune because the baby will outgrow the need for one very shortly.
