i wear dark blue polos to work and i am getting fading in the collar/neck area. what causes this, how can i prevent it?

well, you should try a deterget with color protector, and wash them in cold water... that seems to help most times!

The salt in perspiration can cause the discoloration. When you take your shirt off at night, hit the collar area with a mixture of ammonia and water, it can dry with out hurting the shirt. Then toss in the wash on your normal wash day

It may be just normal wear or if you sweat a lot that can cause fading. Try Cheer with color-guard. I've never used it but it might help. Good luck!

I think perspiration causes that to happen. I don't know a way to prevent it though.

use a detergent with a color protector.
also if you use a colonge in that area and tend to shower then colonge then dress for work it can leave a bleaching stain.
