Depends where in the world you live and what it's made of.
In England it's generally just called a "wall hanging".
Strange language isn't it because it's actually something hanging on a wall not a wall that is hanging:-)

a tapestry...they are found in mostly upscale and higher end homes. and they are very nice indeed
