Lots of details. This is place is disgusting. Me and my bf live in a 1 bedroom apartment in Alberta Canada. We have ants, the whole building does apparently, and no exterminator has been called. Its those teeny tinny ants. A few days ago our toilet and bathtub overflowed, it took them all damn day to fix it and now the carpet out side the bathroom is soaked. Yesterday my manager came in and used a wet vac on it and now it stinks like urine and the floor is still soaked! I called my manager and all shes going to do is bring down a fan for it. Also the dishwasher still isnt fixed (since Aug.) and i was told it needs to be replaced. The firealarm goes off in the middle of the night, testing itself and nothing is being done. I pay 575 C for this place!!! It's mostly the toilet water carpet I'm worried about. I mean is that healthy?????

-New News- The manager is going to rent a second wet-dry vac and add bleach to try and get rid of some of the smell.
-Other stuff: I can't afford milk, let a lone a lawyer or a new place.
-To that one girl who posted links: Thank you! but i live in Alberta, ontarios laws would do be no good.
-As for contacting the landlord...haha hes worse. hes the reason my dishwasher is still broken -he wont pay his bills-

1st thing u do is call a exterminator make sure u have a place to crash when exterminator comes. call 1 ur self want something rite do it ur self maybe u should get some pipe cleaner from a hard ware store got to plumming section, maybe save up some extra money to get the whole damn toilet removed if its that bad. REMOVE the carpet thats probably where those ants are hiding in anyway just call some 1 to take that **** up carpets r discusting especially if they have toilet water in it but down polished wood floor. scaple all the walls then sand it down. paint comfy colors to make ur home nice put up pictures of ur family. then start on 1 room at a time like the bedroom then the bathroom then the kitchen then so on and so on. if it dosent work out maybe u should move into a healthier place if u stay do the most work urself. some 1 else may just mess it all up

No, it's not healthy. You need to check the laws there and talk to a lawyer. Here if something is not fixed and you've notified your landlord and they do nothing you leagally don't have to pay rent until it is or you can have it fixed and deduct that amount from you rent. Check into it.

Do you have a lease? Honestly I would say move start looking for something that is in the same price range. There has to be something.

the laws in another part of canada may give you a clue as to where to check where you live! try thinking a bit about the advice!! since i don't live in canada, i won't waste time trying to give you any other advice.

No, it's not healthy. I have found a few web site that detail your rights as a renter/ tenant, check them out:

I hope these websites will help you understand your rights as a renter, and help you decide your next move.
Good luck.

you are too hard to satisfy. the manager will go crazy trying to placate you, and you will never stop looking for things to complain about. You should move before your lease is not renewed.
