I have always noticed that after showers, I get all itchy. I am not allergic to soap or shampoo or anything. I think it is because there is rust on the shower head and some of the stuff in the rust is getting into the water. I don't have any products around that get rid of rust. My parents are out of town so I can't go down to get them. Is there anything that I can use that is natural like baking soda or something to clean up the rust?

I can wipe off the rust with little q-tips, but that will take hours to get between all the little bumps where the water comes out.

More likely the itchiness is from the stuff in the water that you can't see. If your showerhead has rust on it, then you likely have high iron and hardness. You need a water softener. Maybe Dad can get you one when he gets back in town.

If it is truely rust, there isn't much to do but replace it. If it is rust colored lime, then use lemon juice or vineagar in water and soak for a few hours.

most likely the itchiness you feel is the result of the oil removed from your skin by soap.

replacing the showerhead is recommended.
