When should the water heater be drained? I've never done it and am wondering if that's something that's supposed to be done annually or something. Is it easy to do, and what are the benefits?

My daughter spilled (ok, more like dumped) baby powder all over her room. The vacuum is just spewing the powder all over the place because it's so fine it just gets stirred up. The hand vac doesn't work either, it's too fine for the filter to catch it. I'm at a loss... maybe someone with experience can help? Thanks in advance!

I am a mom of 3 kids (ages 6, 4, and 3 months) and live in house with my husband, mil, and sil. My husband and I take care of everything in the house. My mil and sil do nothing and don't contribute any money to upkeep at all. They do not help with the housework at all. My husband does on the weekend but only clothes and dishes. The rest falls to me. I am home Mon-Fri and work 12 hour days on the weekends. My 6 year old has to be taken to school and picked up. My 3 month old is very fussy and time consuming. He cries and eats a lot. I don't have much time to get things done. Right now the trash is piling up as well as the clothes and dishes. You can't find the kitchen table or my bedroom floor. I need all the advice I can get. I can't help feeling that I am only one person and can only do so much. Then everyone else makes comments on the mess and I feel like a total failure. So how do I keep the house clean and still be able to do the other things that have to be done?

Hi,
Please help me understand this electrical question. My electrician is running romex for an addition I am having done. He has it all meeting at a central location. I asked him about it, and he said that he was going to install a junction box there. Why does he not run the wires to the electrical panel? Is there any advantage to having a junction box? How is he going to get the individual circuits to be wired? Will he have to run seperate wires to the junction box? If this is the case, it seems it would be better to run the romex to the panel. Just tryng to understand..

Thanks for your time

It was due to ice, a 14 inch diameter limb with many attached branches fell onto the roof of the house. It may have well as been a whole tree due to the size of it.

There was no damage to the trusses, but two thick branches are protruding through the bottom of the roof into the garage.

One end of the limb is still partially attached to the tree but is not stable, the other end is resting through several large branches/limbs on the peak of the roof. Overall I would say the limb is about 30 ft long from where it's broken out to the tips of the branches. It's about 20 ft from where the limb attaches to the tree to where it sits on my roof.

I am looking for a website or books or whatever with information on how to properly and safely remove a limb this big without sending it crashing through the roof, or smashing my deck.

When I try cleaning contiboard wardrobe doors, it tends to leave a shine on the surface, but it started off a dull, matt finish. What can I use ?
