It's confusing me!

New house, moved in in March. Faulty limestone flooring. Contractor agreed to remedy back in May. Wrote to him in September telling him to get his finger out or else. He visited in November and promised action. Today last straw as he was supposed to start the work but said it would now be next week. Told him I didn't want him on my premises and would be consulting my solicitor as to my rights. this is very long story cut short of course, many phone calls in between! I am so angry, can I have some hugs and sympathy please? Also, do you think I've been patient enough?!

In my basement where the chimney stack starts/on one side is my furnace. It has a patched up round hole where i assume used to be an incinerator hookup. How hard/costly would it be to have a woodburner put in my basement? im thinkin that i can just buy one and pipe thru that old hole in my chimney. I assume of course i would need a chimney inspection, but that would proably be about it right? Thanks!

My wife won't let me put a urinal in the downstairs toilet. I'm tall and the toilet is too low. I can hit the toilet standing but I have to concentrate really hard, especially when I've been drinking. Sitting down for a slash is too effeminate.

I'm thinking of letting my wife catch me peeing in the sink as part of a dirty protest.

Someone I live with spilled milk over the carpet and didn't think to clean it up properly at the time. Can't get the whiteness or the smell out now.

Hello. I have a Sears Homart gas furnace and I am wondering if anyone knows how old it could be. It is one that vents through a large pipe to the chimney and has a pilot light. Does anyone know from which dates Sears sold these? I am just curious. Thanks.

I have just painted all of them and I would rather not do it again for a few years! Around here the shutter paint is damaged more by the strong sun than cold weather.

... all over our BRAND SPANKING NEW living room carpet a few hours ago and now the candlewax has solidified, as one would expect of course, making it virtually impossible to remove, take off or clean up!!! I did try to clean up the mess he so carelessly made as soon as it happened because he spilled it right in front of me but it happened so suddenly that I didn`t have any time at all to react, jump or dive to the rescue of my candle and its content! All I had time to do was pick up a few warm & "gunky" piece of wax but, unfortunately for me, it became solid very soon afterwards, almost as hard as a rock.

What should I do? Replace our new carpet, which wasn`t cheap to begin with as you can imagine, or replace my clumsy boyfriend instead for a more careful one?

Better yet, does anyone out there know how to remove hardened candlewax from any carpet?!? PLEASE HELP ME ASAP!!! Our living room looks awful now after this silly & mindless incident!!!

Hi

We've just had the plasterer in and the wooden floor is thick with plaster and plaster dust. I'm dreading the through of trying to get a mop over it to get it clean, does anyone have any better techniques. We haven't much time as we've yet to paint the two rooms and we need it done by Xmas, so quick but effective techniques would be the best.

Thanks

Being the clueless bachelor that I am, I accidentally put a pair of expensive wool suit slacks into the washing machine with a load of clothes. It didn't go through the whole wash cycle...I realized my mistake and took the slacks out about halfway into the cycle. I rinsed them off, rolled them in a towel, then hung them to dry.

Are these slacks ruined? I will have them dry cleaned and pressed, but I think they might have shrunk or deformed due to being immersed in warm water. They fit perfectly prior to my mistake and are tight now, but this could be because they're wrinkled and need pressing, which hopefully will bring them back to their original size. Has anyone else done this?

Thanks.

I'm moving my a/c unit from one corner to other corner, so everything has to be buried underground, electrical and a/c tubing. I'm not doing the a/c freon part but only the electrical and just want to know what kind of wire type or gauge and if it needs to be inside some sort of pipes or tubes? thanks.
